In an Armoured Toyota Land Cruiser, the armouring adds up thousands of extra kg weight to the base vehicle, where it is recommended to upgrade the OEM tyres to Light Truck-metric ("LT") tyres for durability and drivabilty. The LT tires are designed to be used on vehicles that are capable of carrying heavy cargo.
The upgraded tyre width & aspect ratio (height) and rim size is purely based on our customer requirements. However, being an expert in armoured Toyota land cruiser, we recommend an upgraded size of 275 width 70/ 65 aspect ratio(height) and 18-inch alloy wheels for better stability and drivability. We tested our armoured Toyota land cruiser with bespoke specifications with Millbrook UK for drivability test and have achieved exceptionally good results.
While choosing a tyre for an armoured vehicle, Load, Speed and Ply ratings are very significant dimensions to consider for maximum comfort and driving in different terrains.
An example of Load rating in a tyre is denoted as 125/122S.
Here 125 denotes that each tyre can carry 3638 pounds/ 1650 Kg at the maximum inflation pressure. The second number (122 = 3307 pounds/ 1500.03 Kg) refers to the load rating on a single tyre used in a dual rear wheel application.

Ply ratings are denoted as ‘10PR’ and Load Range as ‘E’.
The Ply Rating refer to the number of layers of cotton or nylon used to manufacture the tyre. Ply materials continued to improve, which resulted in the newer designation, called “Load Range.”
Value 10-ply rated tire is the same as a Load Range E tyre. Load Range indicates the maximum load recommended for the Tyre. A higher value tyre can hold more air and can be rated for a higher load.

JRZ-Bravo 1800KG/ 12 PR
This premium highway/ terrain 12 PR tire is the only one in the armored car business with a comfortable ride experience and could load upto 1800 KG. Due to the use of a lightweight building process this 12PR tire's weight is only 24,7 kg. The tire has a special engineered carcass tread structure which creates a wider foot print under heavy braking and impacts, resulting in an up to 25% shorter braking distance.
