What approvals are needed to import an armoured vehicle into Kenya?
Kenyan law requires a certificate to buy or own an armoured vehicle. Importers need approval from the National Police Service and a licence from the Firearms Licensing Board, and vehicles must pass KEBS pre-export inspection before KRA clears them in Mombasa. We supply the technical and shipping documents these applications need.

Vehicles are shipped by sea from Ras Al Khaimah to Mombasa, Kenya's main port, where the voyage typically takes around two weeks. Build time depends on the model and protection level, and we confirm the full lead time in writing with your quotation.
Kenyan law requires a certificate to buy or own an armoured vehicle, and importers need approval from the National Police Service and a licence from the Firearms Licensing Board before clearance by the Kenya Revenue Authority. Vehicles must also meet KEBS pre-export inspection requirements. We supply the specifications, ballistic certificates, invoices and shipping documents for these applications, and work with your clearing agent in Mombasa until the vehicle is released for the road to Nairobi.
