About MEVA STRATON
The MEVA Straton is a light armoured personnel carrier of monocoque design. Rather than armouring an existing body, the protective structure is the body, and everything else on the vehicle is built out from it.
The interior is treated the same way. Seating and layout are specified per order and the rear can be converted to the task, including as an ambulance, so one unit can take a full patrol team while another fits the same vehicle out for a medical or specialist role. It is built in left- or right-hand drive.
It suits defence, paramilitary and police units that want one protected platform they can adapt rather than several single-purpose vehicles. For a larger carrier on a Ford chassis, see the MEVA Straton Plus.

Armouring Levels
The Straton is listed at CEN Levels B6 and B7, the two European ballistic resistance levels for vehicle armour and glass, where B7 is the higher, and at NATO STANAG Level I. Higher levels are available on request, and protection up to STANAG II can be specified as an option, so the same vehicle can be ordered at different ratings across one fleet.

Armouring options
Distinctive to the Straton are its interior conversions and customised rear seating, with anti-rust protection on the steel as standard. Communications, crew-protection and mobility options such as tyre inflation are specified on top.
Features
Protection runs right round a purpose-built shell rather than stopping at the panels that were easy to armour. The points where a body is usually weakest, the doors, hinges, locks and the openings for cooling and vision, are engineered as part of the structure, and the engine and radiator are shielded so the vehicle keeps running after a frontal hit.
Reinforced Door Hinges
MEVA produces reinforced door hinges as necessary to compensate for the increase of the weight load of the armoured Toyota Land Cruiser. The doors are bolted directly by using heavy duty hinges onto Ballistic Steel not the OEM vehicle.
Engine Unit Protection
Safeguards Engine Control Unit (ECU) and battery against ballistic threats and blast impacts, ensuring continuous power supply and maintaining operational integrity.
Mesh Protection
Additional layer of security by reinforcing windows and openings against shattering, debris, and ballistic threats, ensuring enhanced occupant safety.

Heavy-duty brakes, suspension and tyres carry the monocoque's armour, a run-flat system keeps it moving after tyre damage, and a winch recovers it when the ground wins. Engine cooling is managed for hot climates, and the vehicle's electronics and surveillance systems give the crew all-round awareness without opening a hatch.
