About
MEVA MAQABA
The MEVA Maqaba is an armoured personnel carrier built on the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 chassis for tactical missions. It shares that platform with the Lynx and the Valor, but it is specified for a different job: this is the carrier a unit orders when the vehicle has to work as a command and observation post as well as move people, with the interior prepared for the surveillance, mapping and communications equipment listed under its options.
A team can observe, coordinate and communicate from inside the vehicle rather than dismounting to do so, which is the difference between a carrier and a position.

Armouring Levels
The Maqaba is listed at CEN Level B6, the European ballistic resistance standard for vehicle armour and glass, and at NATO STANAG Level I. Protection up to STANAG II can be specified as an option, which is worth weighing where the vehicle will hold a static observation position rather than keep moving.

Armouring options
Front and rear air conditioning is standard, because crews stay inside for long periods. Distinctive to the Maqaba are its surveillance and command-and-control configurations, satellite communications and a remote controlled weapons system; radio, mapping and range-finding options complete the fit.
Features
The crew compartment is enclosed in armoured steel and layered ballistic glass, and the components that keep the vehicle running are shielded as well: engine, battery and fuel tank. The team can respond from inside without opening a door, which matters most for a vehicle expected to sit and observe.
Upgraded brakes, suspension and premium heavy-duty tyres carry the armour, and a run-flat system keeps the Maqaba moving after tyre damage. The electrical and communication systems are sized for the mission equipment this vehicle is built to carry, so radios, mapping and sensors run without loading the vehicle's own systems beyond their design.
