About
MEVA MARKSMAN
The MEVA Marksman is a compact light armoured personnel carrier built on a Mahindra monocoque chassis. Its size is the point: an urban patrol vehicle has to fit the streets it works in, and a large carrier that cannot turn into a lane is of no use to the team inside it.
Monocoque construction means the protective structure is the body rather than a shell added to a separate frame, which is what keeps the vehicle compact without thinning the armour. Rear seating is configured per order.
It suits police and security forces working in built-up areas and responding at short notice, and it handles unsealed roads when a patrol leaves the city. For a pickup-based carrier that seats eight, see the MEVA Valor.

Armouring Levels
The Marksman is listed at CEN Level B6, the European ballistic resistance standard for vehicle armour and glass, and at NATO STANAG Level I, with protection up to STANAG II available as an option. Those ratings apply to a compact vehicle, so weight has to be controlled carefully without giving up the level, which is where the monocoque design earns its place.

Armouring options
Distinctive to the Marksman are its customised rear seating options and anti-rust protection on the steel, both standard. Camera systems, blast-attenuating seats and other awareness, safety and power options can be added.
Features
Protection is built into the body itself, with layered ballistic glass keeping the crew's view without opening a weak point, and the engine, battery and fuel tank shielded underneath. Because this vehicle works at close range in crowds, its openings are guarded against thrown objects as well as fired ones.

Mesh Protection

A short, heavy vehicle needs to stay planted, so brakes, suspension and premium heavy-duty tyres are upgraded to keep the Marksman stable in traffic and on broken surfaces, and a run-flat system keeps it moving after tyre damage. Lighting is specified for work after dark, which is when most urban patrols are on the street.
